Anna’s Father Mike came up this last week to visit for the day (here on business), and Cassidy loved seeing him (almost as much as he loved seeing her, hehe). I’m glad they had a chance to visit. We all went out to dinner at the Tied House Restaurant in Mountain View.
She’s really doing well at learning her ABC’s and numbers. For some reason, she still tends to skip 15 (14, 16, …), but we’ll get that eventually.” She now can pretty much identify all of the letters in the alphabet. It’s funny to see how much BETTER she performs when she knows if she spells and writes things correctly that she’ll get to pick out a new toy at the store. She can spell her name, Ben, Anna, Mary, Troy, toy, taco bell (wonder how that happened), and several others.
Cassidy’s Halloween: Cassidy dressed up as a cheer leader for Halloween, and we went around nabbing up lots of candy for her to eat. We came upon this one house where the master and mistress were all dressed up, and had dry ice outside, as well as everything you’ve ever seen at Spencer’s in the mall, it was awesome. I think Cassidy was a little scared, but she enjoyed it too. We thought about going down to Bakersfield for the holiday, but were glad we didn’t as it ended up raining there (and not here).
We found this really neat restaurant last night called Thai Paradise, which is very near Anna’s work and has very decent Thai food at reasonable prices. We were going to go to another restaurant near her work called ‘Banana Leaf‘, but it was too crowded, and she had to get back to work (30 minute break).
Anna’s bosses seem to love her. I’m constantly hearing feedback that they’ve shared with her about how she’s doing. I hope they reward her with more than just words. She’s also worked both days for the last two weekends, that’s getting old fast.
I added a PHP powered guestbook to the site, it’s pretty neat, take a look if you have a few minutes, and leave a note to let me know that you stopped by.
I finally replaced the front right shock mount, it seems this was the culprit (clanking sound when the front right suspension was unloaded, hard right turn). After that I also messed a bit with the adjustable shocks in the front of my car, at the firmest setting it’s awesome, but pretty much that’s a competition mode only (race track or auto-x). …going onto driveway entrances on that setting is rough.
Colin McRae Rally 3.0 – I’ve been playing a lot of Colin McRae Rally 3.0 for PC lately. Here’s an example screenshot from the game. The physics model is just sooo realistic, the graphics are downright awesome, and hell, it’s a lot less expensive than tracking my own car 8)
